Wisconsin autumns can be quite cruel to those wanting to wear lighter or more revealing costumes. I know as a kid many of our costumes were planned around ‘being warm enough to wear without having to put a coat on it’.

Portal had just come out around this time, and my husband had finished playing through it. We (like many, many others) were quite smitten with it.
